The Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts, or BIPA, is a non-profit social-cultural organization based in New York City. BIPA was launched in 1993 to keep the rich Bangla cultural tradition among Bangladeshi immigrants alive and to acquaint the American mainstream with Bangladeshi/Bangla/Bengali heritage. BIPA offers classes in Brooklyn and Queens.

BIPA educational programs:
- Bangla Language
This program aims to introduce students to the basics of Bangla language, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Students learns how to read, write, and speak Bangla, and gains a deeper understanding of Bangla culture and society. - Dance
These classes explores various forms of Bangla dance, including classical, folk, and contemporary styles. Students learns basic hand gestures, feet movements, dance techniques, choreography, and the cultural significance of dance in Bangladesh. - Guitar and Keyboard
This course teaches students to play the guitar and keyboard. Students will learn basic chords, scales, and music theory, and will have the opportunity to practice solo and ensemble playing. - Bangla Vocal Music
This program focuses on the art of Bangla vocal music. Students learn about different vocal styles, compositions, techniques, and the cultural context of Bangla music. They also have the opportunity to practice singing traditional Bangla songs. - Tabla
This course aims to introduce students to the tabla, a percussion instrument commonly used in Indian classical music. Students learns basic tabla techniques, rhythms, and the cultural significance of the instruments of both North Indian classical music and the music of the Bengal. - Bangla Poetry Recitation
This course explores the art of Bangla poetry recitation. Students learn about different poetic forms, techniques, and the cultural context of Bangla poetry. They also have the opportunity to practice reciting famous Bangla poems. - Art and Craft
This class introduces students to various forms of Bangla art and craft, including painting, sculpture, pottery, and textiles. Students learn basic techniques, materials, and the cultural significance of art and craft in Bangladesh.
