Organization of Bangladeshi American Community, Inc. (OBAC) is a not-for-profit social and cultural organization of Bangladeshis living in Albany, New York. It was founded in 2008 to create a platform for Bangladeshis to network with each other, build mutual cooperation, celebrate Bangladesh culture, strengthen multicultural value of USA and promote an environment where everybody gets an opportunity to grow and prosper.
Purpose and Objectives
- To raise the standards of home life to provide an undivided attention, support, and guidance to the youth and children.
- To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
- To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
- To organize cultural, social and educational programs to enhance the friendly relationship, and cooperation among the member families
- To protect the national interest of our home country Bangladesh and promote cooperation in all possible areas for greater interest of both the USA and Bangladesh.
- To facilitate stronger connections to the No Child Left Behind Act requirements for parent involvement.
