Zhankar School and Performing Arts is a Bangladeshi cultural organization in the city of Marlborough, Connecticut. Founded in 2005, the school is a community based non-profit organization. The mission of Zhankar School and Performing Arts is to bring ‘Cultural Unity’ for Bangladeshi residents of Connecticut. To fulfill the mission Zhankar provides a platform for its members to practice cultural and religious activities within the community and promote awareness to the wider multicultural American society.
The celebrates Bangla New Year (Pohela Boishakh), Bangladesh Victory Day (Bijoy Dibosh), New Year’s Eve, Eid Reunion and other community gatherings. In addition to cultural and religious activities, Zhankar runs a community school for Bangla language, literature, music, dance and acting.
The school is primarily for Bangladeshi community but open to all communities who have interest in Bangladeshi culture and tradition. An audition is needed to admit into the school.
