Rajiv Syed has prosecuted close to 200 cases for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. While at the District Attorney’s Office, he was placed in Brooklyn’s busiest trial bureau. Mr. Syed is an active member of the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project, for which he represents indigent clients on Bankruptcy matters. He is also an active member of the Volunteer Lawyer for the Day Project, in which he assists indigent clients on Landlord/Tenant matters. Mr. Syed is a former board member of the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) – Suffolk County Chapter. While with the NYCLU, Mr. Syed was actively engaged in legal projects with respect to Islamophobia, Malicious Prosecution and the Real ID Act.
Mr. Syed speaks Bangla, Hindi and Urdu fluently. Mr. Syed also has basic conversational skills in Japanese. Mr. Syed is proud of his South Asian heritage and is heavily involved with the South Asian Immigrant community, to ensure his community’s rights are not violated. Mr. Syed is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, New York City Bar Association and the Queens County Bar Association. Mr. Syed is licensed to practice in New York State.
