Winnipeg Bangla School

Winnipeg Bangla School is an initiative by the Bangladesh community in Manitoba, Canada. The intent is to teach Bangla to young and adult community members. The school also welcomes anyone interested in learning the Bangla language or culture. Bangla learning materials, including homework and books, are available on the Winnipeg Bangla School website. Upcoming events, class location schedules, and relevant information are available on the website.

Winnipeg Bangla School is run by the Canada Bangladesh Association of Manitoba, Inc. Below is a snapshot of the activities:

  • Bangla alphabet-letter-word-sentence practice (in correspondence with varied skill levels and merit and quality of student advancement)
  • Sportful rendering of alphabet pictorial including riddles and puzzles (for fresh entrants, November-December)
  • Storytelling-based listening for easy word writing practice (for alphabet-graduated level students, November-December)
  • Story and newspaper reading practice (for advanced, word-writing-capable students, November-December)
  • Story writing technique (for advanced, word-writing-capable students, last 15 days of December/ holiday season)
  • Bangla children’s movie, music, and artwork presentation
