Danforth Islamic Center

Danforth Islamic Center is a Bangladeshi run mosque and Islamic center in Toronto, Canada. The center offers five times prayer service, weekly Friday prayer (Jumm’a) service and organizes Eid prayer each year. Danforth Islamic Center also offers basic Islamic education to Bangladeshi kids. Danforth Islamic Center works as religious, non-profit, charitable organization. It was established in 2005 to serve the community of Danforth and surrounding towns, where are number of Canadian families from multicultural backgrounds live. The major services provided by Danforth Islamic Center are:

  • To establish congregational prayers for Muslims in the community
  • To provide Islamic educational programs for adults and children
  •  Bring together the Islamic community for a variety of religious, social, and cultural events
  •  Promote the core Islamic values of peace, tolerance, mutual respect, and understanding among the wide community.

Every Sunday after Fazar prayer, Danforth Islamic Center offers Tafsirul Qur’an. The event is free and anyone can attend. Refreshments are served after discussion. Weekend school (Saturday and Sunday) runs from  11.00 am to 1:45 pm. There are separate arrangements for boys and girls. Lecture sessions for Non-Muslims are also held time to time. The center also have summer school, workshop on Islamic issues (Hajj, Fasting, Zakat), Arabic classes for adults, educational Camps and excursions etc.
