Aamra Bangali Foundation is a Bangladeshi organization in Washington DC to promote and practice Bangladeshi and Bangla culture in USA. Founded in 2016, Aamra Bangali Foundation aims to help Bangladeshi community in greater Washington DC area to involve with their Bangladeshi culture, heritage, history, tradition etc. The organization honors people who has promoted Bangladeshi culture home and abroad, organizes contemporary art, literature shows, promotes social welfare, etc. The organization is run by a committee of seven executive members elected every two years.
The broader aims of Aamra Bangali Foundation are:
- to expand the practice of Bangla among Bangladeshi community in USA
- to offer scholarship, fellowship to encourage Bangla culture
- to build Bangla library
- to provide Bangla language help
- to help authors to publish their Bangla books
- to offer educational program for Bangladeshi immigrants
- to encourage Bangladeshi immigrants to participate in mainstream US politics
- to highlights the liberation war of Bangladesh and its associate values
- to introduce Bangla and Bangladeshi cultural values to Bangladeshi-American kids and young
