Bangladesh Association of Delaware Valley (BADV) has served the Bangladeshi communities in Philadelphia, Delaware, Maryland, and South Jersey metropolitan areas since 1971. The organization is a not-for-profit organization and is open to all persons of Bangladesh origin and anyone interested in furthering the objectives of the Bangladesh Association of Delaware Valley. Membership is the principal source of funds for most of the BADV’s events and programs. There are two kinds of membership: family and life. Life membership costs $300.00.
Bangladesh Association of Delaware Valley, run by an executive team, consists of one President, two Vice-Presidents, one General Secretary, one Treasurer, one Social Secretary, one Cultural Secretary, and four executive members. The association’s members elect the executive team every two years.
The mission of the Bangladesh Association of Delaware Valley is
- to enrich the social and cultural life of persons of Bangladesh origin residing in the Delaware Valley,
- to disseminate the art, literature, and culture of Bangladesh,
- to stimulate interest in economic, social, and other developments in Bangladesh,
- to educate the younger generation about the rich history, culture, and diversity of their Bangladeshi ancestry,
- to develop and spread goodwill among the American people.
