[H. Taufiq Choudhury was admitted to the New York Bar in 1991. He received his legal education at Kyiv National University, Ukraine (LL.M. in International Law, 1981), Europa Institute of the University of Amsterdam (Post-Graduate Diploma in European Integration, 1986), and in the United States at the University of Georgia School of Law (LL.M., 1988). Mr. Choudhury’s legal career includes practice as an associate lawyer at Neil A. Weinrib, PC, a New York City firm. He has been a sole practitioner since 1993. His current practice includes advise and representation on a wide range of legal matters including US immigration, commercial arbitration, bankruptcy, corporate law, commercial and residential real estate transactions, wills, family law, criminal law, professional malpractice, negligence, commercial contracts and taxation. His clientele includes Information Technology consulting companies, financial institutions, healthcare facilities and academic institutions. As a participant in C-G Immigration and Commercial Law Affiliates, he also advises businesses on various international legal transactions. Mr. Choudhury has published numerous articles in regional publications and has given interviews on legal developments of interest to minority groups to broadcast and print media including the British Broadcasting Corporation. He served as a volunteer lawyer with the Asian American Legal Defense Fund and many other advocacy groups. Mr. Choudhury served as Special Counsel to the Consul General of Bangladesh in New York on immigration matters and has represented the Consul’s office in discussions with Department of Homeland Security officials in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
