Long Island Muslim Society (Long Island Muslim Center) is an organization of the Bangladeshi Muslim community in East Meadow, Long Island, New York. The society was founded in 1989 mostly by Bangladeshi professionals living in Long Island as a not-for-profit organization. Long Island Muslim Society offers Islamic services such as daily prayer, children’s religious education, etc. The prime aim of the Long Island Muslim Society is to act as an educational and charitable platform for all Muslim communities.

The society is a membership-based organization. Any legal resident or US citizen can apply for a life membership by paying a non-refundable one-time fee of $2500. The executive committee gives honorary membership to someone who has provided extraordinary service to Islam.

Objectives of Long Island Muslim Society:

  • To promote Islamic values among practicing Muslims
  • To participate in inter-faith dialog with other religious communities
  • To build partnerships with local churches, synagogues, interfaith organizations
