Founded in 2012 as a non-profit organization, the Dhaka University Alumni Association of New England (DUAANE) promotes intellectual, social, and cultural relations. It creates networking opportunities among Dhaka University graduates living in New England. DUAANE fosters communication between Dhaka University and its alumni residing in New England.
The mission of Dhaka University Alumni Association of New England (DUAANE):
- Support Dhaka University Students: to provide leadership, scholarships, and initiatives to enhance the academic and social experiences of Dhaka University students, both in Dhaka and New England.
- Bridge the Gap: to foster communication between Dhaka University and universities in New England, connecting faculty, alumni, and their children.
- Empower Alums: to encourage alumni to actively participate in projects that benefit Dhaka University, including scholarships, technological advancements, and exchange programs.
- Engage New England Bangladeshis: to organize events for Bangladeshi students and families in New England.
- Connect and Share: to create opportunities for families to bond and share experiences through social gatherings, workshops, and educational materials.
- Empowering Youth: to offer family support groups and scholarships for Bangladeshi youth to attend educational conferences in the USA.
- Inclusivity: to welcome everyone, regardless of religion, gender, disability, political views, or ethnicity, to celebrate the diverse tapestry of Bangladeshi life and culture.
- Commitment to Compliance: to ensure our organization adheres to all applicable laws and regulations.
DUAANE organizes events to celebrate Bangladesh Independence Day, Bangla New Year (Boishak), International Language Day (Ekushey), Iftar, Eid reunion, etc.
Membership:
New membership: $40/two years
Renewal of existing member: $20/year
Lifetime membership: $500 one-time payment
Operated from Massachusetts as its principal location, the Dhaka University Alumni Association of New England (DUAANE) also covers Alumni members who live and work in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
