Downtown Manhattan Bangladeshi Business Association, Inc. is a business organization of Bangladeshi small business owners, vendors, shareholders. The association was created in 2004. It is registered in New York as a domestic not-for-profit organization.
The aim of the association is to
- make a strong network among Bangladeshi businesses working in Downtown Manhattan
- promote a safe, secure and healthy environment for business for the community
- create a friendly and cooperative relationship with all ethnic community working in the area
- plan, arrange and celebrate cultural, religious and national events of Bangladesh together
- lobby for good business environment with local authorities
- help maintain and spread business opportunities for all Bangladeshis, etc.
Downtown Manhattan Bangladeshi Business Association is a membership based organization. Currently there are 25 general members in the organization. The organization is run by a elected committee. Each year the association organize family picnic, iftar party and other events for its members and their family.
