Dhroopad

Dhroopad is a Bangladeshi cultural organization in the greater Washington DC Metro area founded in 2000, with an objective to promote Bangla cultural heritage, and to foster arts and literature as a force that transcends social, cultural and religious barriers and instigates compassion for humanity. Dhroopad is certified as a public charity organization under IRS 501(c)(3).

Dhroopad organizes cultural events to celebrate Ekushey February, Nazrul and Rabindra Joyanti, dance, drama, folklore, concert, baul songs, Pohela Boishakh (Bangla New Year) etc. all year long. Dhroopad works to tie between the Bangalee culture broadly practiced in Bangladesh and West Bengal of India. Artists, singers, dancers are invited to perform on various occasions.
