Anwarul Quadir Foundation (AQF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes economic development and social justice in Bangladesh by encouraging innovations that empower its citizens. Specifically, the Foundation offers awards to innovators who conceive of practical ways of improving the lives of low- and middle-income Bangladeshis. In addition, it fosters discussions on Bangladesh that may lead to relevant innovations in governance, commerce and technology, contributing to the country’s social and economic progress. More broadly, the solutions we identify may also be applicable to problems faced by the poor in developing countries throughout the world. All of our programs seek to set a positive and problem-solving tone with regard to discussions involving Bangladesh, and other poor countries experiencing similar development challenges.
Approach
While the Foundation stimulates innovations through awards, the Foundation does not participate in the process that selects award recipients. The Foundation sets the criteria and enables independent, reputable institutions to select the winners.
The Foundation, its board of trustees, its board of advisers or members of the Quadir family have no influence in the award selection process.
