Bangladesh Society Gold Coast (BSGC) is based in Queensland, Australia. Bangladeshi Community living at Gold Coast is quite small, around 200. Bangladeshi people start coming to Gold Coast even before Bangladesh was born in 1971! Most of the Bangladeshis living in Gold Coast maintain a very close relationship and also enjoy a number of social and cultural events throughout the year. Majority of the Bangladeshi are professional in the health and engineering sector.
Bangladesh Society Gold Coast organizes events that are related to Bangladesh and Bangla culture such as Pohela Boishak (Bangla New Year), Boishaki Mela (Bangla New Year Fair), Ekushey February (Mother langauge day), Bangladesh Independence Day, Bangladesh Victory Day, etc. The organization also arranges programs like children’s performances, recitations, mini drama, fashion show, prize distribution, and performances by both local and interstate artists.
