The Bangladesh Society USA will hold its election on September 27 in New York City. Interested members of the Society can purchase an election material package for $500 in cash. A selected member of the election commissioners will conduct the elections.

- The Election for the Executive Committee of Bangladesh Society will be held according to the rules and regulations outlined in the election by-laws and the constitution of the society.
- The Election Commission may terminate the candidate’s candidacy (s) at any time for violation of any rule/regulation outlined in the election by-laws and the constitution.
- The Election Commission will not be legally or by any other means responsible for any irregularities in the voter list or any discrepancies in the constitution or its by-laws.
- Members with any questions regarding the voter list should contact the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Society.
- The Executive Committee of Bangladesh Society must correct discrepancies in the voter list based on appropriate documentation. The executive committee must write to the Election Commission about any correction by August 31, 2024. After that date, the Commission will accept no correction.

- The non-refundable nomination fee payable to the Election Commission must only be paid by postal money order (preferable) or cash (in case of any emergency).
- The nomination form must bear the original signature of the Election Commission (Photocopies are not acceptable). Each nomination form must be submitted with a non-refundable designated fee and the candidate’s photo ID. Accepted IDs are a Photocopy or a driver’s license, State ID, Green Card, Work Authorization Card, or Passport. If an agent submits the nomination form, the agent must submit an affidavit on proof of authenticity of the documents along with a notarized copy of the document.
- Each candidate must notary the affidavit section of the nomination form. Without a notary, the nomination form will stand void.
- Any incomplete form will stand as void, and there will be no fee refund for any void form.
Eligibility of the Candidates:
- The candidate’s commitment is crucial. They shall be a member in good standing for two consecutive calendar years and at least 22 years of age.
- For the President and the General Secretary positions, the candidate shall be a member in good standing for at least three consecutive calendar years up to the election year.
- President, General Secretary, and Treasurer shall not hold the same position in another organization for the period they shall serve Bangladesh Society USA.
- President, General Secretary, and Treasurer shall be at least a legal resident of the USA (Green Card Holder).
- The candidates must not have had any criminal judgment under the Criminal Court within the last seven years.

Rules
- No voter will be allowed to cast his or her vote without a photo ID. The following forms of identification may be accepted: Driver’s License, State ID, NYC ID, Green Card, Work Authorization Card, and Passport. Life members may get access at the voting center and cast vote showing their Life Membership card.
- Campaigning, placement of posters, banners, and distribution of flyers, etc., are prohibited within 200 ft. of the polling area.
- No noise-making equipment will be allowed in or around the polling area.
- In the event of any unauthorized or unlawful conduct by any candidate or any person in the election center on Election Day, the local law enforcement agency will be notified immediately.
- Only disabled with wheelchair voters may nominate one assistant to cast his/her vote.
- Each voter’s Name & Year of Birth on the Photo ID must match with the Name & Year of Birth on the voter list.
- No candidate shall enter the center without the Commission’s permission. Candidate may check the center one time for a period of maximum 15 minutes. If a malfunction of voting equipment occurs, the candidate will be allowed to check.
- Voters of one voting center can not cast a vote in another center (including candidates, life members, and polling agents). Only the presiding officer and polling officer will be allowed to cast their votes at their voting center.
- The Election Commission shall decide matters that may appear undefined, unclear, contradictory of the election by-laws or the constitution. The Commission reserves all rights to make necessary modifications to rectify the issue, in necessary.
