Bangladeshi Pitha Competition

The Bangladeshi Pitha Competition will be held on Saturday, February 22, at P.S. 012, James B. Colgate in Woodside. It is open to all genders. The participants must prepare and present two authentic Bangladeshi-style pithas—sweet and spicy—for consideration. The winner of the pitah competition will receive cash prizes of $200, $150, and $100.
The event is part of the International Mother Language Day celebration. Bangladeshi students will participate in the Bangla language competition and present a cultural program (poetry recitation, music, dance) to showcase their talents.
The event is free and open to all.
Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) will organize the event with the support of the NYC Commission on Human Rights and the Mayor’s of Office of Immigrant Affairs.
