The 2016 Election of Bangladesh Society in the USA will be held on October 23rd in different boroughs of New York City. The election is held every two years. Only the members of the society can vote and compete for the posts. There are 19 positions available for the 2017-2018 term election. One post each for President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, and Organizing Secretary. Six departmental secretaries (sports, cultural, Women, etc.) and executive membership positions are available. An election commission from the Bangladeshi community will conduct the election.
The election of Bangladesh Society USA will be held according to the rules and regulations prescribed in the constitution of Bangladesh Society. The election commission will terminate the candidacy for any election law violations. The Election Commission is not legally responsible for the voter list or any of its irregularities, if any. Interested members of the Society can collect nomination forms by paying a designated fee for the position and showing their original membership card and a valid photo ID (Driving License, Passport, Green Card, etc). For eligibility criteria, contact the election common.
The election package can be purchased from the Society’s office for $300.00 in cash. However, the money is non-refundable.
