Miss Bangladesh USA Contest 2016

Miss Bangladesh USA Contest 2016 will be held Chicago. The competition is open to all Bangladeshi women living in USA, single (not married) and under 30 years of old. To participate send a photograph of yourself, a CV/resume, and the answer to the following questions:
- Why should you be Miss Bangladesh USA?
- What is a social issue you are passionate about?
Score Breakdown
Private Interview (35%): Contestants will engage in a 10 minute private interview in front of the judges’ panel. Contestant will be asked a wide range of questions. These questions include questions about the contestant’s platform, social and political global and national issues, Bangladesh and its culture, and behavioral questions. This is an opportunity for the contestant to showcase what they know and have the judges learn more about the contestant without the pressures of being on stage. Please wear business professional for this portion.
Platform Issue (25%): Contestants will have to prepare a one-minute speech or presentation regarding their social issue of choice. This is to raise awareness regarding the issue and to express how passionate you are about it. You may get as creative as you want. It does not have to be memorized but it is encouraged that you do. You may wear anything you seem fit for this portion.
Talent (15%): This is your chance to showcase any talents you may have. Do you like to sing, dance or do something else? This is where you can engage the audience with what you love to do. Contestants will need to prepare a 1 minute 30 second talent piece. Please submit the talent request form as soon as possible so you get the song of your choice. It must be in Bangla or English. If you choose something other than those, make sure it is an instrumental and no other language is heard. You may wear anything you may seem fit for this portion.
Cultural Wear (20%): Contestants will be asked to wear what they believe best defines Bangladeshi culture. You can get as creative as you want. For instance, are your parents or family from a specific state of Bangladesh? You can represent that state’s outfit.
On-Stage Question (5%): Contestants will be asked to wear party/evening saris and do a short walk and answer a current events question on stage.
