After a mass movement in Bangladesh led to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last month, the country’s new interim government faces a series of significant challenges. This virtual event will take stock of these challenges and how different stakeholders in the US, including Bangladeshi Americans, can support the people of Bangladesh.

Donald Lu, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, will brief on the evolving situation, embassy operations, and US policy in Bangladesh moving forward. After his comments, a panel of experts will discuss Bangladesh’s economic, governance, and humanitarian challenges and how the Bangladeshi diaspora can help address them.
