Bangladeshi Independence Day Celebration 2017

Naree Shongothok (Women Organizing), a collective of community organizers of Bangladeshi descent will celebrate Bangladeshi Independence Day Celebration 2017 in New York through art and activism for positive social change. The event, ‘Shadhinota‘, will honor Bangladesh Independence Day with a special focus to Bangladeshi women’s history during the liberation war of Bangladesh and aftermath. The event will celebrate Bangladeshi women’s liberation through art, culture, activism, exploring labor, gender, violence and migration. Through photography, film, conversation, reading and performances the event will also highlights the works of some local Bangladeshi women artists.

Bangladeshi Historical Memory Project, Desis Rising Up & Moving, Law At the Margins, South Asia NYU, and NYU Club Bangla will assist and Co-sponsor the event with Naree Shongothok (Women Organizing)

Bangladesh Independence Day 2016

Bangladesh Independence Day 2016 will be organized by Bangladesh Beanibazar Social & Cultural Society, Inc. in Ozone Park. Event will include patriotic music of Bangladesh liberation war, art competition for children, discussion on Bangladesh Liberation War, reception of Bangladeshi freedom fighters, prize distribution and dinner at night.

Bangladesh Independence Day 2016

Bangladesh Independence Day 2016 will be observed by Genocide of ’71 Foundation USA, Inc. Many Bangladeshi political groups based in New York City will participate at the event. The day will be celebrated with solemn respect, political demands to Bangladesh government, Bangladeshi patriotic Bangla songs, recitation, etc. All are welcome.
