Bangla Street Festival/Pothomela 2024 – Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society 

Jamaica Bangladesh Friends Society will organize a Bangla Street Festival (Pothomela) in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Local Bangladeshi singers, artists, and performers will entertain the attendees. The Bangladeshi business community will sponsor the event, and Bangladeshi media companies will act as media partners.

Many vendors will offer traditional Bangladeshi food, clothing, jewelry, toys, etc. From 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, a more conventional Bangladeshi delicacy, ‘Panta Vhat Illish’ (Fermented rice with Hilsha Fish), will be a significant attraction.

The event is free and open to all.

JBBA Pothomela 2016

JBBA Pothomela 2016 will be held in Jackson Heights, organized by Jackson Heights Bangladeshi Business Association (JBBA). Bangladeshi vendors will participate with various merchandise. A full color souvenir will be published for the occasion. Music will performed by Bangladeshi singers, raffle draw prizes are sponsored by Bangladeshi business community in New York. Food, women’s cloth, toys, information booth and community people will be there. Easy access to fair, fun all and free to attend.

Prio Bangla Pothomela 2016

Prio Bangla Pothomela 2016 will be held in Virginia for Bangladeshi and communities curious about Bangladesh. The event is organized by Bangladeshi community but multicultural in nature. The event is organized by Prio Bangla – a Bangladeshi community organization to celebrate Bangladeshi culture in Washington DC, Virginia and surrounding areas. The Pothomela (street fair) is sponsored by some local Bangladeshi businesses. Food, cloth stalls for shopping, dance and live music for entertainment. Prio Bangla Potho Mela is free to attend. Stall can be booked by calling the organizers.

Pothomela 2015 by Sandwip Society will be held in Brooklyn, at the corner of Church & McDonald Aves. Many Bangladeshi community from Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and other areas are expected to join. Local and visiting artists from Bangladesh will sing at the event.  Food, jewelry, cloth, toys, information stalls will be available. This is a community focused, family friendly event.
