Bangladeshi Eid Mela 2016 will be held in Jackson Heigths. This is two-day event is organized by Colors Fashion Magazine and sponsored by local Bangladeshi business community of the area. Eid fashion dress, jewelry, mehedi, henna, face paint for kid are available. Last change to purchase before the Eid. The event is free.

Paterson Bangladeshi Mela

Paterson Bangladeshi Mela for all Bangladeshi community in New Jersey. A day of outdoor activities. Stalls with tasty Pitha (Bangladeshi traditional cake), Bangladeshi food, Bangladeshi cloth and jewelry, toys and other merchandise will be available. Live music by local Bangladeshi singers. The event is sponsored by local Bangladeshi businesses in Patterson area. All are welcome.

Pothomela 2016 – Chittagong Association of North America

Street fair or Pothomela 2016 of Chittagong Association will held in Brooklyn, New York. The event is to celebrate Bangladeshi culture, tradition, music, comedy, fun and adda. There will stalls with food, cloth, jewellery, toys, and other businesses. Live music will be performed by local and invited Bangladeshi singers on big open stage. Bangladeshi community will enjoy a day of shopping, music, dance, raffle draw, meeting and greeting. The event will be organized by Chittagong Association of North America.

Colorful souvenir will be published with stories, poetry, sponsoring Bangladeshi businesses, etc.

Raffle draw with grand prizes like car, gold chain, TV, iPad, air tickets, valuable household items etc. All are welcome.

Annual street fair 2016 of Jackson Heights Bangladeshi Business Association (JBBA) will be held in Jackson Heights, New York. Royal Bengal Street Fair 2016, organized by Bangladeshi Community of North Bronx and co-organized by
 Bangladeshi-American Community Council will be held in Bronx, New York on May 29th. The event is sponsored by some local Bangladeshi businesses. Thousand Voices Sing Sonar Bangla

Thousand Voices Sing Sonar Bangla is an event organized by Total Cable for Bangladeshi community in New York, USA. The aim of the event is to celebrate Bangla music in New York, Bangladeshi community’s love and emotion about Bangla language, promote Bangla learning habit among 2nd generation Bangladeshi kids.

Another aim of Thousand Voices Sing Sonar Bangla is to try to create a world record outside Bangladesh by singing in thousand voices.

The event is organized by several Bangladeshi community and business organizations. The plan is to sing four songs in four boroughs of New York – Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Bangladeshi-Americans will sing four songs:

  • National Anthem of USA (in English)
  • National Anthem of Bangladesh (in Bangla)
  • Ekushe February Song (Amar vaier Rokte Rangano in Bangla)
  • Ora Amar Mukher Bhasa Kaira Nite Chai (in Bangla)

A all day street fair will be held on Purdy Ave of Bronx.

2nd and 3rd events to create a world record by singing National Anthem of Bangladesh by thousands of Bangladeshi immigrants will be held in Church McDonald Ave in Brooklyn and 37th Road in Jackson Heights, Queens. Dates will be announced later.
